This information provides the business inputs which address failure modes of mobile equipment which relate to the mobile equipment being poorly specific for the duty to which it is being put.  The listing of failure modes is shown in detail in the Important Documents section on the right – but in essence, they relate to:

  • Specifying flammable components
  • Not identifying heat build up potential (e.g. due to dust make during operations etc.)
  • Failing to identify different loss scenarios for new types of equipment (e.g. battery vehicles)
  • Not requiring detection devices on critical systems, and
  • Poor specification of fire suppression system(s)

The business inputs which address these types of failure modes are presented in the listing of business inputs shown below the failure modes.
