An overview of an emerging technology around eye tracking of drivers (mobile equipment operators).

The key points of the study are available in more detail on this link and in brief are:

  • Pupil tracking using cameras is possible;
  • Changes in a driver’s pupils can provide input data to the alarm logic – to avoid sounding an alarm when a driver is already reacting (i.e. avoid distracting a driver)
  • The technology is a work in progress but early experiments appear interesting.
